Miền Trung Việt Nam đang oằn mình trong những ngày bão lũ khắc nghiệt. Những trận mưa xối xả, những cơn gió mạnh từng hồi đưa con nước từ thượng nguồn đổ xuống, mực nước dâng cao bất ngờ khiến người dân vùng trũng, vùng thấp không kịp trở tay. Điện nước bị cắt, chất đốt chìm trong ngập lụt, thực phẩm khan hiếm, thuốc men thiếu thốn, nước sạch để uống trở thành nhu cầu cấp bách.
Sau lũ, cảnh nhà cửa đổ nát, mái tranh bị cuốn trôi, của cải mất sạch, người dân rơi vào cảnh cơ cực, tay trắng giữa trời đông lạnh giá. Trong bức tranh tang thương ấy, hình ảnh Gia Đình Phật Tử Việt Nam hiện lên như một điểm sáng của lòng từ bi và tinh thần trách nhiệm xã hội. Tổ chức này vốn được huấn luyện qua các trại họp mặt, trong các chương trình hoạt động thanh niên, rèn luyện kỹ năng cứu trợ, cấp cứu, vượt suối băng ngàn, thắt gút, đánh tín hiệu semaphore… Giờ đây, những kỹ năng ấy trở thành hành động thiết thực để cứu giúp đồng bào.
Những hình ảnh cứu trợ khẩn cấp
- Các anh huynh trưởng, em ngành thanh cõng trên vai những túi lương thực, lội qua dòng nước ngập để đến với bà con đang đói khát.
- Những chiếc thuyền nan chở đầy thuốc men, thực phẩm, nước uống được chèo đến tận vùng ngập sâu.
- Ở hậu cứ, các chị huynh trưởng và các em ngành thiếu nữ lo đóng gói lương khô, nấu nướng, chuẩn bị quần áo, thuốc men.
- Các em oanh vũ mang tơi, đội mũ, đi khắp phố phường xin uỷ lạo tiền bạc và vật phẩm.
Từ oanh vũ, ngành thiếu, ngành thanh đến huynh trưởng, mỗi người một việc, răm rắp không ai bảo ai. Đó chính là tinh thần Gia Đình Phật Tử với châm ngôn “Bi – Trí – Dũng,” trong đó chữ Từ Bi được thể hiện rõ nhất.
Tiếng gọi lương tri
Trong dân gian ta có câu:
- “Một miếng khi đói bằng một gói khi no.”
- “Lá lành đùm lá rách.”
- “Thương người như thể thương thân.”
Những câu ca dao, tục ngữ ấy không chỉ là lời nhắc nhở, mà là tiếng gọi của lương tâm.
Giữa lúc đồng bào miền Trung đang oằn mình trong lũ dữ, mỗi tấm lòng sẻ chia, mỗi bàn tay cứu trợ đều là ánh sáng xua tan bóng tối.
Kêu gọi phong trào nhân ái
Gia Đình Phật Tử kêu gọi lòng từ của mọi người, mọi giới, bất luận giàu nghèo. Đây là lúc cần dấy lên phong trào “lá lành đùm lá rách,” để mỗi người góp một phần nhỏ bé, nhưng cộng lại sẽ thành sức mạnh lớn lao. Một gói mì, một chai nước, một tấm áo ấm, một đồng tiền uỷ lạo… Tất cả đều là nguồn sống, là niềm hy vọng cho những người đang trong cảnh khốn cùng.
Hậu lũ lụt – tái thiết cuộc sống
Không chỉ cứu trợ khẩn cấp, mà còn cần sự chung tay lâu dài để tái thiết nhà cửa, dựng lại mái tranh, khôi phục ruộng vườn, ổn định đời sống. Đây là công việc không thể chỉ trông chờ vào một tổ chức, mà cần sự đồng lòng của cả cộng đồng, cả dân tộc.
Tinh thần của Gia Đình Phật Tử là minh chứng sống động cho sức mạnh của lòng từ bi và trách nhiệm xã hội. Họ không chỉ là một tổ chức thanh niên Phật giáo, mà còn là lực lượng dân sự sẵn sàng dấn thân, cứu trợ, giúp đỡ đồng bào trong mọi tình huống.
Xin kêu gọi cộng đồng, những người có trái tim nhân ái, hãy cùng chung tay ủng hộ, cứu trợ cho miền Trung. Bởi lẽ, “Một giọt máu đào hơn ao nước lã” — tình người, tình đồng bào sẽ là sức mạnh giúp chúng ta vượt qua mọi thiên tai, hoạn nạn.

Central Vietnam is struggling beneath the weight of relentless storms and floods. Torrential rains and sweeping winds have driven the waters from the highlands down onto the lowlands, causing sudden surges that leave people in vulnerable regions with no time to react. Power and water are cut off, fuel sources are submerged, food supplies are scarce, medicines run short, and clean drinking water becomes an urgent necessity.
After the waters recede, the devastation is stark: houses collapse, thatched roofs are swept away, possessions are lost, and countless families are left destitute in the cold of winter. Amid this tragic landscape, the image of the Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association (Gia Đình Phật Tử Việt Nam) emerges as a beacon of compassion and social responsibility. Trained through camps, youth development programs, and exercises in first aid, rescue techniques, river-crossing, knot-tying, and semaphore signaling, their skills now become vital actions in service of those in need.
Scenes of Emergency Relief
- Senior youth leaders and members of the Thanh division carry sacks of food on their shoulders, wading through deep waters to reach hungry families.
- Small boats, laden with medicine, food, and drinking water, are rowed into the most severely flooded areas.
- At the support base, female youth leaders and members of the Thiếu Nữ division prepare rations, cook warm meals, package clothing, and organize medical supplies.
- The youngest Oanh Vũ members put on raincoats and hats, walking from street to street to raise donations of money and essential goods.
From the youngest to the most senior members, everyone fulfills their role naturally, without being told. This is the spirit of the Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association—rooted in the motto Compassion – Wisdom – Courage, with Compassion shining most clearly in moments like these.
A Call to Conscience
Our people have long reminded one another through simple but timeless sayings:
- “A morsel given in hunger is worth a feast in times of plenty.”
- “The intact leaf shelters the torn leaf.”
- “Love others as you love yourself.”
These are not merely proverbs. They are the voice of conscience.
As the people of Central Vietnam endure the fury of rising floodwaters, every gesture of kindness, every outstretched hand, becomes a light dispelling the darkness.
A Call to Human Kindness
The Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association calls on the compassion of all—regardless of wealth or circumstance. This is the moment to rekindle the spirit of sheltering one another, so that each person’s small offering, when combined, becomes immense strength.
A packet of noodles, a bottle of water, a warm coat, a single donated dollar…
Each is a lifeline, a seed of hope for those struggling to survive.
After the Flood – Rebuilding Lives
Beyond immediate relief, long-term efforts are needed to rebuild homes, re-thatch roofs, revive fields, and stabilize community life. This work cannot fall on the shoulders of a single group; it requires the collective support of the entire community and nation.
The Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association stands as a living testament to the power of compassion and civic responsibility. They are not merely a Buddhist youth organization—they are a civil force ready to step forward, to serve, and to protect their fellow citizens in every circumstance.
We call upon the community—those whose hearts are moved by suffering—to join hands in supporting relief efforts for Central Vietnam.
For indeed, “A drop of shared blood is thicker than a pond of clear water.”
